In light of the Coronavirus outbreak and uncertainly around large gatherings we have taken the difficult decision to postpone Conquer24. We have not made this decision lightly, but with only nine weeks to go and increasing numbers of sporting events being cancelled we feel this is the most responsible course of action. Crucially we cannot secure insurance for the event in light of the outbreak, which means we cannot provide you, our volunteers, or the lovely people providing services to the event with any kind of financial or legal protection. Without that in place we simply cannot go ahead in May.
We are working with the venue Powderham Castle to secure a new weekend and will update you as soon as we have more information. I’m sure you can understand they are rescheduling a lot of activity, but have promised to fit us in.
One we have a date we will let you know. We are still working hard behind the scenes to ensure an amazing weekend, full of fun challenges and memories. In the coming weeks look out for updates including a route map, a first look at the finishers medals, and plenty more. We are a tiny charity, and you will remember from signing up that we do not offer refunds in your entry, however if you cannot attend the revised date, we will be happy to defer your place to 2021, or offer you a place in one of our other events (once they are scheduled).
We will continue to monitor the global situation, and always do what is safest for you and our volunteers.
Conquer24 is a new 24 hour race taking place in the beautiful grounds of Powderham Castle. You may run solo or as a relay team of 2-8 runners. The 5 mile course will take you around the castle’s stunning trails with breath taking views of the River Exe, after which you’ll run through the castle itself to a cheering crowd of supporters!
Captains can register a relay team without having all the team info. Once registered, captains will receive a confirmation email with a link enabling team changes to be made as and when team members are recruited.
Along the route, motivational speeches will be booming out at you from our intriguing woodland section, egging you on as you race to cross the finishing line – it will all be surreal, spirited, magical and, above all, worthwhile!
Whether you are a serious Ultra Runner, running for fun, as a family or a corporate team looking for ways to bond, this event will suit all abilities and will be a great experience.
On top of the 24hour main event we will be running a Daytime and Night time 5 mile race which will be one Lap of the 24 hour course as well as a kids’ fun run.
If you are taking part in the race there is free camping for you and your supporters; all we will charge is £2 per extra tent (that’s what the venue is charging us) and you can bring a tent, caravan or motor-home. We will have entertainment, food and drink available during the event.
There will be inspiring and motivational speakers getting you pumped up and ready for the race along with a fun warm up crew.
Further details of entry, race rules and kit list can be found on the links at the bottom of this page.
