Day 52 – 8 March 2020
After last night’s terrible experience I saw the sun rise from the car, and needless to say wasn’t feeling in the slightest bit refreshed this morning. A honey sandwich went some way to lifting my spirits and surprisingly I felt ok after that, despite the lack of sleep. We’d clocked 25 miles by our second checkpoint. We were keen to reach Livingstone where we needed to do some shopping, and a further five miles saw us arrive in time to get all of our chores done. We’ve managed 1,500 miles so far – a huge achievement and one I’m keen to reflect on as we take some time to rest now. We’re staying with a friend here, Claire, at her lodge, and are looking forward to some down time.
