Day Six

Day Six – 22 January 2020

Today was a fairly good day. We were up early again (0430) and enjoyed a delicious breakfast of toast, coffee and fruit at the lodge we’d stayed at last night. We managed ten miles before the first checkpoint and felt pretty positive. However, during the second ten miles I experienced some problems with my shin. I think I may have burst a few vessels and built up some pressure in the area, so I need to remember to look out for that and treat it when I can. We set up camp in a school and have cooked chips on the gas cooker which feels like a real luxury. We’ve also been able to buy bottles of cold coke from a stall down the road. Looking forward to a good night’s sleep and reaching the end of the first week of this amazing challenge. Everyone’s in high spirits and is feeling good.
